In a new interview, Thomas Markle says he considered suing his “shameful” daughter Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry to see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.
On Good Morning Britain, Thomas acknowledged to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid that he had considered taking legal action against Meghan, Harry, and their two children.
“You have two new grandchildren, who you must be scared you won’t meet,” Susanna stated when interviewing Thomas.
Thomas expressed his deep concern about this.
“I’d love to see my grandchildren,” he said.
He then told Susanna that he has received advice from people in California to sue his daughter and her husband since he is unable to see his grandchildren.
“People in California have suggested that I sue to see my grandkids, and I believe that if I did that, I’d be a hypocrite, because I’d be doing the same thing that Meghan and Harry are doing,” he said.
“I don’t want to put my grandchildren in this scenario; I want them to grow up with friendly parents and friends all around them.”
Susanna then questioned him about the legal action he mentioned, asking if he had sufficient grounds to pursue it.
Thomas explained that he didn’t want to sue his daughter and her husband because he didn’t want his grandchildren to be “pawns in a game.”
